A new PDF needs an independent check
Use an ordinary draft with at least 10 pages so both range boundaries can be checked. Pages 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 must receive [101], [102], [103], [104] and [105]. Pages 4 and 10 receive no new label; the original page count and order must remain. These are visible overlays, not viewer page-label metadata. Keep the source and inspect every result page: reserialization does not guarantee byte identity, forms, links, annotations, accessibility or signature preservation. Check overlap and contrast in the receiving viewer.
